#digitanz
Digitality and dance in cultural education
This project centers on preparing, conceptualizing and designing digital artistic and creative tools for teaching dance to young people. Existing digital tools are adopted, implemented and applied together. By integrating digital technology, the project aims to observe, describe and analyze the changing aesthetics of dance ethnographically. Cooperation between the Johannes Gutenberg-University Mainz and Mainz University of Applied Sciences provides the opportunity to use a video-intrinsic system that enables video annotations during the live situation – digital support for ethnographic research. A further goal of this collaboration is to take digital forms of artistic and creative work in professional dance and apply them to work with young people in schools in terms of both technology and didactic methods. All in all, the project hopes to make a valuable contribution to research into cultural educational processes in dance.
